Residence Permit Type B.3 for Business Executives and Investors in Greece

Greek legislation allows third-country nationals to obtain a residence permit in Greece as company executives. This permit (type “B.3”) is intended for board members, managers, legal representatives, or shareholders of companies lawfully operating in the country. It is granted by decision of the Ministry of Migration and Asylum, following the proposal of the Ministry of Development and Investments, with the aim of supporting important business initiatives.

The permit applies, among others, to investors holding at least 33% of the share capital of a Greek company, with personal funds of at least 500,000 euros, as well as to shareholders of companies listed on regulated markets in Greece with an equivalent level of participation. It also covers third-country nationals serving as board members, managers, or legal representatives of companies with assets or annual turnover exceeding 4,000,000 euros, even if they do not receive remuneration for their position.

This permit is designed for high-level executives who wish to combine their professional activity with permanent residence in Greece. It is particularly beneficial for entrepreneurs expanding their activities in the country, for international companies establishing subsidiaries or branches, as well as for shareholders actively involved in the management of Greek businesses.
